A study conducted at the College of Agriculture, University of Kirkuk, has been published in the Passer Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences, a journal indexed in Scopus (Q4 classification).

The research was carried out by Professor Dr. Ammar Qahtan Shanoon, Professor Dr. Qana Hussein Amin, and researcher Sarood Samal Shawkat.

The researchers explained that their study investigated the effect of nano-epigallocatechin gallate (Nano EGCG) on growth performance, biochemical indicators, and the development of digestive organs in broiler chickens.

They added that the study aimed to determine the relationship between the level of Nano EGCG inclusion in the diet and the productive performance of broiler chicks, as well as to evaluate its effects on biochemical parameters and digestive organ development.

The findings showed that the best-performing groups exhibited increased antioxidant enzyme activity, reduced lipid peroxidation, improved lipid metabolism, and stable liver and kidney functions. These results suggest that the positive effects of Nano EGCG may be attributed to enhanced growth performance, physiological regulation, and oxidative balance.
