The department's program contributes to achieving the college's mission, which seeks to discover, disseminate and apply knowledge to manage natural resources efficiently in order to provide food and sustainable agricultural development while preserving the environment. Objectives:

The department's objectives are summarized in achieving the college's objectives through the following:

1• Providing graduates for postgraduate studies with practical and theoretical skills in the field of soil and water sciences.

2• Building a good relationship with other departments, other colleges, research centers, and with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Water Resources, and the Ministry of Environment.

3• Developing the program and academic courses to meet community requirements.

4• Adopting educational courses that focus on the student’s practical skills aspect to prepare him for the labor market and continue self-learning with the aim of: -

-Keeping pace with development plans and expansion in the reclamation of desert and saline soils, which require special skills.
- Raising the quality of newly reclaimed soils and preserving them.
- Maximizing the return from the soil and water unit while rationalizing water use and preventing soil and water pollution.
