Assistant Professor Dr. Mateen Yilmaz Izidin, a faculty member at the College of Agriculture, University of Kirkuk, participated as a lecturer in a professional training course organized by the Agricultural Extension and Training Center in Kirkuk on methods of propagating ornamental plants and cut flowers, with the participation of agricultural engineers and extension staff from various Iraqi provinces.

The lecturer explained that over the three-day course, which was held at Mohammed Nursery, both theoretical and practical lectures were delivered to trainees بهدف enhancing their job performance and developing their professional skills.

He added that the lectures focused on training participants in asexual propagation methods for ornamental plants and cut flowers—such as grafting, cuttings, division, layering, and separation—as well as how to select appropriate rootstocks for grafting, determine the proper timing, and understand different types of grafting techniques.
