Mr. Omar Mohammed Ghanem, a lecturer at the College of Agriculture, University of Kirkuk, participated as a speaker in a guidance seminar organized by the Agricultural Extension and Training Center in cooperation with the Kirkuk Directorate of Agriculture and the Local Union of Farmers’ Associations. The seminar focused on the role of sustainable agriculture in adapting to climate change, with the participation and attendance of several rural youth.

The lecturer explained that his presentation centered on defining sustainable agriculture and highlighting its importance in confronting climate change and its impact on agricultural production. He also discussed the use of modern sustainable farming techniques — such as drip irrigation and solar energy — as well as the conservation of natural resources, soil, and water.

Additionally, the lecture covered topics on the use of drought-resistant crops to cope with changing climate conditions and improving agricultural waste management for recycling and enhancing soil fertility.
