The Department of Arabic Language, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Division, organized a scientific symposium entitled "The Beauty of Prophetic Eloquence - Similes as a Model." The symposium was sponsored by Professor Dr. Farhad Aziz Mohiuddin, Dean of the College of Education for the Humanities. The symposium addressed the eloquence of similes in the Prophetic Hadith and its impact on simplifying concepts and instilling moral and educational values. The lecturers reviewed selected examples of Prophetic hadiths that demonstrated the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) mastery of similes to clarify and influence the listener, making his speech one of the finest examples of Arabic rhetoric. The importance of prophetic similes in conveying meanings in a manner that is easily understood was also discussed, along with their impact on the education of individuals and societies. Several texts that embody this rhetorical art were analyzed in a scientific and objective manner. The symposium also addressed modern applications of prophetic eloquence in contemporary linguistic studies and how they can be employed in the fields of literary research and rhetorical analysis.
