Under the patronage of the President of the University of Kirkuk, Professor Dr. Imran Jamal Hassan, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Assistant Professor Dr. Osama Ibrahim Ahmed, the College of Agriculture participated in the launch of Entrepreneurship Week organized by the University of Kirkuk, in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The event included the participation of several public and private universities (Kirkuk, Al-Kitab, Al-Qalam, and Baba Gurgur).

The Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Osama Ibrahim Ahmed, explained that the College of Agriculture secured first place in the competition for advanced entrepreneurial projects. The winning projects were distinguished by innovation, feasibility, and direct relevance to labor market needs and sustainable development. This achievement reflects the advanced academic and professional level of the college’s students under the supervision of its academic staff.

Dr. Saad Abdulmajid Wahib, Head of the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering, stated that this accomplishment represents a strategic indicator of the college’s successful orientation toward applied and entrepreneurial education. It paves the way for promising future prospects that contribute to supplying the labor market with graduates who possess competence, skills, and initiative, in alignment with the requirements of the knowledge economy and the modern labor market. He emphasized the college’s commitment to graduating highly qualified students capable of keeping pace with developments and revitalizing the agricultural market with creative ideas that can provide valuable opportunities for growth and expansion.

Entrepreneurship Week is part of the national programs launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, aiming to promote a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation within universities, support creative ideas, and transform student projects from academic concepts into productive, implementable ventures that contribute to reducing unemployment and strengthening the role of universities in economic and social development.

In the same context, the Deanship of the College of Agriculture affirmed that this victory is not the end of the journey, but rather the beginning of a new phase of institutional entrepreneurial work, with continued support for creative students, strengthened partnerships with productive sectors, and a transformation of the university from a traditional educational institution into a true incubator for future ideas and projects.
