The College of Education for Pure Sciences discussed the master’s thesis entitled “A study of the water morphology of the Lower Zab River in the Altun Kupri district / Kirkuk governorate” by the student Anji Imad Jamal, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Tawoos Muhammad Kamel Ahmed. The thesis aimed to know the physical, chemical and nutrient properties and study the algal content of the river A monthly and on-site comparison was made. The study concluded that the area's water was of medium cleanliness according to the classification of the vital oxygen requirement (BOD) and that the concentrations of dissolved oxygen (DO) did not reach the critical limits. As well as the dominance of the algae (Bacillariophyta) over the rest of the algae, followed by the green algae Chlorophyta), then the blue-green algae and Euglena algae.
