A teacher at the University of Kirkuk performs a supra-major surgery

Teaching in the Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Najat Rashid Ali, a rare and complex surgery, replaced the lower jaw joint (temporomandibular joint) with an artificial joint, in cooperation with a specialized medical team.The teacher stated that the specialized team performed a surgery on a 16-year-old patient following a traffic accident that stopped the lower jaw from moving for five years, and with exceptional efforts and with the participation of a medical team, the lower jaw joint (temporal joint) was replaced with a new artificial joint.He added that the surgical intervention was carried out in Azadi Teaching Hospital and was crowned with success, and the patient moved the jaw and eats after suffering for five years in taking fluids only, and this operation is one of the rare surgeries that were carried out in Azadi Teaching Hospital.
