Academic seminar on political systems in post-conflict states

Under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Science, Assistant Professor Dr Murad Saeb Mahmoud, the Political Science Department, in collaboration with the Faculty’s Continuing Education Division, organised an academic seminar on political systems in post-conflict states... An assessment of the power-sharing model in Iraq and Lebanon.
The seminar, delivered by lecturer Dr Maad Saleh Hassan, aimed to demonstrate how power-sharing relies on consensual democracy as a mechanism to ensure stability and prevent the recurrence of conflict in Iraq and Lebanon, and how this contributes to civil peace whilst hindering development and radical reform.
