The Pillars of Building a CV in a Scientific Symposium

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Farhad Aziz Mohiuddin, Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, and in cooperation with the Continuing Education Division, the English Language Department organized a scientific symposium entitled "The Pillars of Building a CV". The symposium addressed a set of topics on how to formulate a professional CV, focusing on the importance of presenting personal information, academic qualifications, practical experience, and skills in an organized and attractive manner. It also touched on common mistakes that should be avoided when preparing a CV and how to formulate it in a manner that is consistent with the targeted jobs. The lecturer, Eng. Eng. Muhannad Adnan Abdul Rahim, highlighted the importance of using the English language in the CV as a primary tool that enhances the chances of acceptance by employers in various fields. Practical examples and illustrative models were presented by him to enrich understanding and help students apply what they have learned in a practical manner. His Excellency the Dean emphasized in his speech the importance of developing the professional skills of students, indicating that the CV is the face of the job applicant and reflects his personality and skills. He stressed the prominent role played by the English Language Department in preparing qualified students who possess linguistic and communication skills that meet Requirements of the local and international labor market and pointed out the need to maintain the distinguished level of the academic department and work diligently to enhance its outputs in line with the aspirations of society.
