A Scientific Seminar Entitled: (Language as Identity: A Comparative Study between Arabic and English)

 

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Kirkuk, Professor Dr. Imran Jamal Hassan, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Basic Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Ali, the Division of Continuing Education organized a scientific seminar entitled: “Language as Identity: A Comparative Study between Arabic and English,” delivered by Assistant Lecturer Azad Hama Amin and Assistant Lecturer Imad Khalaf Ramadan.
The seminar sought to present an analytical academic comparison of the role of language as a vessel of cultural identity and a means of expressing civilizational particularity through a comparative study of the Arabic and English languages.
It also focused on exploring the linguistic, historical, social, and cultural dimensions that shape the identity of each language, along with analyzing the impact of globalization and language contact in forming new patterns of identity. Finally, the seminar aimed to highlight the points of convergence and divergence between the two languages in terms of structure, expression, and meaning, and how these aspects are reflected in the recipient and society.
