Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Basic Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Ali, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College organized a voluntary campaign aimed at enhancing women’s capacities for expression and participation in community development. The campaign was organized by Dr. Layla Ali Abd and Assistant Lecturer Dhumyaa Mousa Zaidan.
Enhancing women’s capacities for expression and active participation in community development is considered a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development and building a just and inclusive society. Women possess intellectual, creative, and experiential potentials that enable them to contribute effectively to identifying societal issues and proposing appropriate solutions.
Empowering women to freely express their opinions and providing safe spaces for dialogue and participation contribute to strengthening their self-confidence and reinforcing their role as genuine partners in decision-making. Moreover, involving women in developmental initiatives, voluntary programs, and economic and social activities positively impacts the family and society as a whole.
This can be achieved through capacity building via training, raising awareness of rights, promoting a culture of equality, supporting women’s leadership, and utilizing digital and media tools to amplify women’s voices and highlight their role in development.
