Dean of the College of Arts Participates in a Master’s Thesis Defense at Salahaddin University

Prof. Dr. Omer Najmeddin Inja, Dean of the College of Arts at the University of Kirkuk, participated in the defense of a Master’s thesis by student Ahmed Mohammed Amin Abdullah at the College of Islamic Sciences, Salahaddin University-Erbil. The thesis was titled: "The Balance Between Values and Interests in the Jurisprudence of International Relations: An Foundational Purpose-Oriented (Maqasid) Study."

The thesis aimed to explain the balance between values and interests within the jurisprudence of international relations, specifically from Islamic and contemporary perspectives, addressing the fundamental dilemma between moral idealism and the inevitability of political realism.

The study concluded that sound international relations jurisprudence seeks to adopt an "ethical realism" that balances the achievement of a state's essential interests with adherence to the values and principles that ensure the sustainability of those interests, while avoiding injustice or moral decay.
