Awareness Lecture at the Faculty of Arts on the Dangers of E-Cigarettes

The Faculty of Arts at the University of Kirkuk organized an awareness lecture focusing on the risks and dangers of electronic smoking (vaping).
The lecture was delivered by Sumaya Ahmed Khurshid, Head of the Tobacco Control Unit at the Kirkuk Health Directorate. She highlighted the health, economic, environmental, and social impacts of e-cigarettes, noting that vaping causes severe health complications, including nicotine addiction, chronic lung diseases, high blood pressure, and an increased risk of strokes and heart attacks.
Furthermore, she emphasized the urgent need to raise awareness within the community, particularly among young people, as the prevalence of vaping has seen a significant and noticeable rise in recent years.
