Under the guidance of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Shahd Abbas Al-Attar, and as part of the research projects for fifth-year students, a workshop entitled "Optimal Use of Laboratories" was organized. The workshop included a lecture delivered by Dr. Mustafa Qasim, in which he addressed the importance of providing personal protective equipment when handling laboratory materials, which prevents students from critical errors that they may encounter while using chemicals. He also stressed the necessity of not leaving experiments running unattended and avoiding the use of expired materials, while ensuring the correct labeling of containers and samples used. The workshop aimed to emphasize the necessity of wearing a lab coat and gloves, changing them frequently, taking care not to touch the face, and ensuring that the safety label is read before using any material in the laboratory. In case of injury, the affected area should be washed with water for 15 minutes.
