The Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Dr. Shahad Abbas Al-Attar, participated as Chairman of the committee to discuss the master’s thesis entitled (Using microscopic and immunological methods in diagnosing the eggs of the parasite Cryptosporidum parvum in humans and calves) by the student Al-Khayzaran Al-Muhallab Khalaf Salman at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Tikrit University. The study included a set of laboratory techniques such as the method of floating with a diabetic solution and a dye.
Modified Ziehl - Neelsen hot and cold, and fluorescent dyes Auramine-Phenol Calcofluor White, in addition to choosing Elisa, which was used as a reference standard to determine sensitivity and specificity and to compare the efficiency of the microscopic methods used. The study aimed to evaluate the infection rates of the Cryptosporidium parvum parasite in humans and calves in Salah al-Din Governorate, in addition to comparing the efficiency of the number of diagnostic techniques used in detecting the parasite.
