The College of Veterinary Medicine organizes a seminar on the challenges of water scarcity.

Based on the principle of cooperation between government departments and institutions, and under the guidance of the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, Professor Dr. Shahd Abbas Al-Attar, the University Psychological Counseling Division, in cooperation with the Kirkuk Water Resources Department, organized a seminar entitled "A Drop of Water is Life... So Don't Waste It Even If You Are By a Flowing River." The seminar was attended by faculty and students of the college.

The seminar included a lecture delivered by Dr. Zaki Karim Ahmed, Director of Water Resources in Kirkuk Governorate. He addressed the importance of water conservation, which is one of the most vital resources for sustaining life. He emphasized the necessity of optimal water use and preserving water resources by minimizing waste. He explained that the scarcity of water sources, coupled with increasing daily consumption and demand, negatively impacts water conservation efforts. He added that wasting water leads to the depletion of reserves and a decline in the ability to meet citizens' needs, especially in areas suffering from low rainfall and water scarcity. He stressed the importance of raising awareness among all segments of society and educating them on how to conserve water resources, which significantly contributes to saving money and protecting the environment. The workshop aimed to raise community awareness of the importance of preserving water resources by encouraging citizens to reduce water waste and spreading awareness among students and all segments of society to ensure the availability of water for future generations.
