In the presence of the Dean of the College of Law and Political Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Murad Saeb Mahmoud, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Nawzad Ahmed, and a number of faculty members and administrative staff, the University Psychological Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the Student Activities Unit and the Media and Government Communication Unit, organized a cultural welcome festival for first-year students.
The festival began with a recitation from the Holy Quran and a moment of silence to recite Surah Al-Fatihah in remembrance of the martyrs of Iraq. Following this, the Dean delivered a speech welcoming the new students to their university life and urging them to be diligent, persevering, and academically hardworking. He also explained their rights, responsibilities, and the academic regulations in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The festival also included providing psychological support and guidance to help students adapt quickly to the new environment, fostering a sense of belonging among the new students, building bridges of communication between students and faculty, and motivating them to achieve academic excellence and innovation from the very beginning of their university journey. The festival also included poetry readings and various competitions, with certificates of appreciation awarded to the winning students. This event is part of the college's efforts to prepare its students academically and psychologically, and to strengthen bonds of cooperation and positive interaction, contributing to a distinguished university experience.
