A master’s thesis in the College of Science discussed the assessment of the level of the hormone aspirin and a number of physiological variables and oxidative stress factors in a number of patients with cardiovascular diseases, by Elaf Irfan Khalaf, under the supervision of Dr. Wedad Mahmoud Al-Obaidi. The study showed the role of the hormone aspirin and a number of physiological variables represented by cardiac troponin and the enzyme phosphokinase. The biochemical represented by the levels of lipids, cumulative sugar, fasting glucose, insulin, and a number of oxidative stress factors in patients with atherosclerosis and myocardial infarction. The study concluded that changes in aspirin levels in patients with cardiovascular diseases are considered a biochemical marker to estimate the severity of injury. It appears to be an important receptor factor in protecting the heart and its cells from damage caused by hypoxia.elaf1
