The Hawija College of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Directorate of Agriculture of Kirkuk, held a workshop on the diagnosis of Varroa bee pest and methods of combating it, presented by Prof. Dr. Fadel Abbas Qader Al-Bayati.The workshop aimed to introduce the importance of honey bees as they are one of the most important insects that have a direct and indirect impact on agricultural production.The workshop included identifying the mechanisms of coping with the problems caused by the ectoparasite Varroa jacobsoni Oudemans. Which feeds on hemolymph in brood, males and workers, causing severe damage to beehives.
