Master's thesis discusses the policy of the Abbasid Caliphate in dealing with its crises

In the presence and under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences, Professor Dr. Farhad Aziz Mohiuddin, the master's thesis entitled "The policy of the Abbasid Caliphate in dealing with its crises during the first Abbasid era 132-247 AH / 749-861 AD" was discussed in the Department of History by the student Hind Muhammad Salih Yusuf in the college hall on 2-12-2025.

The thesis included the treatment of the Abbasid Caliphate for the crises it faced during the golden age of its rule represented by the first Abbasid era and how the caliphs of this era were able to treat the crises in various ways and different ways depending on the strength of the caliphate. The thesis shed light on the type of these crises, some of which were political and some of which were ideological, represented by the Mu'tazila sedition that had its echo in the Abbasid Caliphate. It also faced military crises represented by some rebellions from within and outside the Abbasid house. The thesis also discussed the nature of these crises and how they were dealt with. Some of them were treated with cunning and wisdom, and some of them required the Abbasid Caliphate to mobilize its army. The solutions were not always the same, but rather changed according to the circumstances and the crisis itself. The personality of the caliph was the first responsible for how to choose a mechanism to treat these crises.
