a scientific seminar entitled “Characterization in the Novel Above Jumhuriya Bridge: An Analytical Reading”

 

Under the patronage of the President of University of Kirkuk, Professor Dr. Imran Jamal Hassan, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Basic Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Ali, the Continuing Education Unit organized a scientific seminar entitled “Characterization in the Novel Above Jumhuriya Bridge: An Analytical Reading,” delivered by Dr. Raghad Mohammed Saeed.
The seminar shed light on the novel Above Jumhuriya Bridge by the Iraqi novelist Shahd Al-Rawi. The analytical study examined the construction of fictional characters and explored their psychological, social, and intellectual dimensions. It further analyzed the narrative techniques employed by the author in shaping characters and advancing the development of the narrative events.
The lecture also emphasized the significance of the novel within the contemporary Iraqi narrative landscape, considering it a text that reflects the transformations of social and political realities while presenting a profound human vision through dynamic and multilayered characters.
The seminar concluded with valuable scholarly contributions from the audience, which enriched the discussion and opened new avenues for research in narrative studies and the analysis of fictional texts.
