Prof. Dr. Dilshad Omar Abdul Aziz, a faculty member in the Department of History at the College of Arts, participated in the 5th International Scientific Conference held in Duhok. The conference, titled "Migration and Displacement in Kurdistan Through the Ages," was organized by Nawroz University.
During the conference, Prof. Dr. Abdul Aziz presented a research paper titled "The Forced Displacement of Kurds in Kirkuk in 1991: An Analytical Study of Political and Economic Consequences." The study sheds light on the political and economic implications of the forced displacement of Kurds in Kirkuk between 1991 and 2003. It provides a comprehensive analysis of the political, economic, social, and psychological impacts resulting from the displacement policies implemented by the former regime during that period.
The research garnered significant interest from both the conference’s Scientific Committee and the attendees. This acclaim was attributed to the researcher's methodology, which skillfully integrated traditional historical research with field study techniques, utilizing questionnaires distributed to the study’s target population to gather empirical data.
