The College of Administration and Economics, in cooperation with the Technological Incubator and Ecosystem Unit and the Continuing Education Division, organized a scientific seminar entitled “Fundamentals of Project Start-Up,” as part of the activities of the Global Entrepreneurship Week – Iraq 2025. The event was held under the patronage of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Imran Jamal Hassan, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Assistant Professor Dr. Issam Hadi Mohammed.
The seminar aimed to promote the culture of entrepreneurship among students and graduates by highlighting the scientific and practical foundations for establishing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It also addressed the mechanisms for transforming entrepreneurial ideas into feasible and sustainable projects, in addition to discussing the major challenges faced by entrepreneurs and the possible approaches to overcoming them. This aligns with efforts to encourage innovation, initiative, and self-employment opportunities among young people.

The seminar covered several key themes, including the concept of entrepreneurship and its role in economic development, methods for selecting a viable project idea, the initial steps required to launch a project, as well as the presentation of practical models and real-life experiences from the local business environment.

The seminar was delivered by Lecturer Musab Mohammed, Mr. Taha Khalil Eidan from the Vocational Training Directorate, and Mr. Ihsan Abdulhadi from the Kirkuk Chamber of Commerce.

The seminar witnessed notable attendance and active participation from attendees through questions and discussions, which contributed to enriching the academic dialogue and enhancing the overall scientific and practical value of the event. This emphasized the importance of organizing such academic activities in supporting and strengthening the entrepreneurial orientation within the university environment.
