Under the patronage of the President of the University of Kirkuk, Professor Dr. Imran Jamal Hassan, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Basic Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Ali, and within the framework of supporting extracurricular activities and promoting a spirit of positive competition among students, as well as in pursuit of developing intellectual and cognitive skills that contribute to building a well-rounded student personality, the Student Activities Division / Sports Activities Unit organized a chess championship for the college students. The event was supervised by the lecturers (Asst. Lec. Abdullah Ahmed Jalloub) and (Asst. Lec. Mustafa Fakhr Al-Din).
This championship is part of a series of activities aimed at discovering students’ talents and refining their abilities in intellectual games. Chess is considered one of the most prominent means of developing strategic thinking, as well as enhancing students’ skills in analysis and decision-making. It also contributes to reinforcing the values of patience, concentration, and sound planning—core principles that our educational institution seeks to promote.
