An Awareness Campaign Entitled “The Dangers of Drug Abuse and Methods of Combating It”

Under the patronage of the President of University of Kirkuk, Professor Dr. Imran Jamal Hassan, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Basic Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Ali, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Psychological Guidance and Follow-up Units, organized an awareness campaign entitled “The Dangers of Drug Abuse and Methods of Combating It.”
The campaign covered all departments of the College and targeted both morning and evening studies. It was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Bilal Qais Kamal in collaboration with Mr. Mohammed Marai, Head of the Follow-up Unit, and Mr. Abbas Ibrahim Khalil. The campaign included a series of purposeful activities aimed at enhancing community awareness and promoting health and behavioral culture among students and staff members.
The campaign also featured awareness lectures and counseling sessions. The organizers emphasized the importance of concerted efforts between educational institutions and families to curb the spread of this serious phenomenon. They stressed the necessity of equipping young people with sound awareness and knowledge, and of reinforcing positive values that contribute to building a safe society free from social vices.
This campaign stems from our institution’s commitment to safeguarding our dear students and from our belief in our role in building a conscious and responsible generation capable of confronting contemporary challenges.
