
Under the patronage of the President of University of Kirkuk, Professor Dr. Imran Jamal Hassan, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Basic Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Ali, the Continuing Education Unit organized a seminar entitled “The Arabic Language: Its Origins, History, and Number of Speakers,” delivered by Assistant Lecturer Salam Abdul Mohammed.
The seminar addressed the historical roots of the Arabic language and its development across different eras, as well as its status among the Semitic languages. It further examined its geographical spread, the number of its speakers worldwide, and its role as a living language with wide cultural and civilizational influence.
The seminar also highlighted the importance of preserving the integrity of the Arabic language and promoting its proper use within educational and media institutions. The session concluded with distinguished engagement from the audience through interventions and questions that enriched the discussion and contributed to achieving the intended academic objectives.
