Between Sharia and Law .. University of Kirkuk organizes a scientific symposium on harassment

The College of Law and Political Science, in cooperation with the United Foundation for Relief and Sustainable Development (FUAD), organized a scientific symposium under the title (No to Harassment), in coordination with the University's Continuing Education Center and the Community Police Directorate, with the participation of specialized researchers.The symposium, which was held as part of the activities of the 16 days to combat violence against women and girls, aimed to identify the causes of the phenomenon of harassment and to study the issue from the legal and legal perspectives.The symposium included several lectures in which it shed light on the types of harassment, the reasons for its spread, and the effects resulting from it in society, and a statement that there is no specific text for harassment in the Iraqi Penal Code No. 111 of 1969, but that harassment was defined in the Iraqi Labor Law No. 37 of 2015.The symposium concluded with a set of recommendations represented by adding a special legal article in the Penal Code within the section on crimes against morals and public morals, in which the act of harassment is criminalized by an explicit text and addressing this negative phenomenon in society.women1
